THE 12 COMMANDMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION IN
THE SMITH FARM FORUM

1) You must be a resident of Smith Farm and must register for a user account using your full name, your real e-mail address, and the name of your village within Smith Farm in order to have posting priveleges.

2) No Profanity, Neighbor Bashing or Builder Bashing will be tolerated.

3) Conduct yourself in a civil manner - This board is publicly accessible and you never know who is reading your post. Do not post anything you would not want a child (yours or someone else's) to be able to read.

4) Everyone values their time (or lack thereof) - By posting non-related messages you're wasting the time of hundreds of people, including your own.

5) No sales pitches allowed - Any sales pitches will be removed from this message board.
There are other areas of the web site dedicated for this subject.

6) Be cordial - Treat others the way you wish to be treated. No one wants to be disrespected and no one wants to feel like they are unwanted. It works to everyone's benefit to keep established users from leaving and to encourage new users to return.

7) Libel is against the law, even on the web - Realize that you may be called upon to defend your statements in a court of law. Do not post anything for which you are not willing to be responsible.

8) Be patient - Not everyone has been a homeowner for years. Keep in mind that sometimes what is considered "common knowledge" isn't exactly common.

9) Be considerate - Do your homework. Don't expect people to take valuable time to answer questions to which you could have easily found the answers.

10) Be constructive - This doesn't mean always be positive. It's fine to be negative, just make sure you are not senselessly whining. That accomplishes nothing and again, wastes all of our time. Constructive criticism is usually appreciated.

11) Make sure that the Smith Forum is the right place for what you have to say! - If you aren't sure if this is the right time and place to make a comment... Then it probably isn't. If you don't feel comfortable letting your neighbors know who you are, you probably shouldn't be using a public forum to address your concerns.

12) Say it only once - Duplicate posts will be removed from the board.
